I have the Jensen. In order to get the Surround to work - you have to use the Jensen Remote to control the volume not the TV remote. Hope this helps.....

If the remote doesn't help you solve this issue, you may have to take the radio unit off to make sure that the connectors are still plugged into the correct locations. I noticed the same issue when I first took my unit out and found a bunch of loose and missing connections. Everything should be well marked (the wires) but the operator's manual was actually pretty useful too.

Depending on which Jensen unit they installed you may not be able to do what you want.
I complained enough that they sent me another unit.
On some, there is no "audio input" to the head unit. The only sound from the ceiling and exterior speakers comes from a DVD or AM/FM.
I switched the head unit and now have the TV as an audio in, and can listen through all the speakers. Otherwise, like you said, you can't hear the tv unless you are right in front of it....

OK, so look at the back of the TV and see if anything is plugged into the Audio Out jack, if not, then you would have to run the wire yourself to the head unit (jensen) and plug it into the auxillary audio input.
This can be a real pain in the ........

Why they don't do it correctly I don't know but they didn't.

Although I posted earlier about using the Jensen remote, I did a full field trial and discovered there is no Audio cable from the TV to the Head Unit (AWM965). So, I am unable to hear the TV through the sound system. Only the Head Unit features are heard through the speakers.... I intend on contacting dealer to see WTF.....

Darrell:

My setup is the same as yours. I can't get audio from the tv through the overhead speakers. I have tried some of the suggestions by others on the forum and have not been able to make it work. The overhead and tv speakers all work when playing a DVD.

On my trailer I had no TV sound through the overheads either. Turns out the audio cables on the back of the TV were hooked to the TV inputs. Switched the cables to the TV's audio out jacks and everything now works. Hope that solves your issue.

X2 Although I don't know if it is model specific.
