Where do I find my hot water heater bypass on my CF31QB? I know where the drains and low point drain are located.

Thanks in advance.

It is normally located on the back side of you water heater. There is probably a panel with 4 screws. I installed doors on my opening to make access easier.

There are 2 water lines on the back of your HWH. One is a inlet and one is the outlet. Between these two lines will be a short piece of pipe with a valve. The valve needs to be turned "on", the inlet/outlet valve needs to be turned "off" for winterization.

On your unit it's under the sink behind the pannel...

I have a query perhaps someone can assist me with. I have a 2010 CF30SK. The water bypass value (singular) is obvious between the inlet and outlets to the hot water tank. The book only talks about a single valve. Yet when I turn the valve and pump through antifreeze it goes into the hot water tank and cold water lines, but not the hot water side. Apart from wasting antifreeze I cannot seem to figure out how to fix the problem. My old travel trailer had three valves and one could completely isolate the tank and allow water to bypass. My buddy suggests there may be a smaller unseen valve somewhere, but I can't find it. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

should be a 2nd valve on the lower line going into the WH. Mine is a single sided valve handle, kinda hard to spot at first.

On our 2009 30sk one valve is easily seen but the second was on the backside of the pipe going into the hot water tank & was difficult to see,but it's there. The output of the HW tank has a one way valve so no more is needed.

CeeDee is correct. The second valve is on the lower water line going into the cold water side of the water heater. It only has what I would call half a handle and is kind of hard to see. Did you have to remove the cabinet floor and side panel to get to the valve? That's what I had to do on my 2010 30sk. While I had the panels out I cut a 6x9 opening in the upper right of the side panel and made a hinged door to cover it so I don't have to take the cabinet apart next time. Apparently the factory hasn't had to winterize one of these so they don't know what is involved to get to two little valves.

Guys, thank you so much for your ideas. I found the second valvehidden as suggested, facing inward toward the tankas opposed to out so one can actually see it and easily use it. I am not the sharpest tack in the box, but the engineer that designed that one must have graduated at the bottom of his/her class.

The book needs to be redone as well to notate two valves instead of one and the access needs to be redesigned so simple folk like me can get into it. I am not sure it should be up to the purchaser to have to build an access hatch.

Oh well, it is winterized and that's what counts. A great first year in the unit with 98 nights behind us.

Thanks again. Much appreciated.
