Greetings all,

we have a 2006 Crossroads 5th wheel Cruiser ~ does anyone know if our 29' Cruiser has a water-pressure reducer built-in to the system?

Thanks much,

ed

It should not have one "built in" but you should be using one at the city water hookup. I bought a Watts adjustable pressure regulator for our unit.

It's unlikely to have one built in. You can buy a non-adjustable one for anywhere from $10 to $20 at Camping World or any RV dealer, though. It'll keep the pressure around 50 psi. I don't know that there's a big need for an adjustable one, which runs double or triple what a non-adjustable unit costs. The investment in some sort of regulator is worth it for peace of mind alone, knowing you don't have to worry about blowing out the freshwater hose or any of your in-trailer plumbing.

Have a 2011 cruiser 5th wheel and it does not have one built in. Getting one is def a good idea though as have been a few places where the pressure is very nigh. Peace of mind for around $10.00.

Wal Mart also carries them in the RV supplies section of the automotive department. They are very inexpensive, and worth every penny. They make a really cheap plastic one, but I'd opt for the brass. It is more durable and still very inexpensive.

Thanks to everyone for the replies.....most appreciated!! Interestingly enough, I got an email this morning from a Mr. Stout from Crossroads support, he said the best way to confirm where a pressure reducer has been installed internally is to remove the "city water" panel and look inside.......

well, yes that would work.....but I have this philosophy that if it ain't broke, don't fix it!! I bought a reducer for $12......

Cheers All......

They are the manufacture of the unit, they couldn't tell you if it had a built in reducer or not? So they are telling the customer to remove the fresh water fill panel and look for yourself......You have got to be kidding.

Good call on buying a pressure regulator.

Over our 50 plus years of rving we have saw many of the 5 to 10 dollars units fail in various ways but mostly stop water flow. If you want to do it right without flow restriction go to HD Or Lowes and get a Watts adjustable and you should be able to finish your rving life with it.

Yes it is adjustable but comes set at 50 lbs I believe so leave it alone but they sure do allow flow rate especially if you get the 3/4 in size. You will need to fit it up to your hose size but you will be pleased at how it performs. They were about $27.00 at the big box stores for a long time but every thing has gone up...When you open the faucet it doesn't drop to a pee stream as some do.I have advised several of our friends to go this way and they all seem to be happy with the change.

I have always referred to the cheapies as flow restrictors not pressure regulators. JMHO jb

Ps, Remember to always install regulator at the water spigot as it then protects the hose too.. JMHO jb

ask me how I know !!!!!!!
