What is this opening for.

2012 27RLX. Under the bathroom sink there is.a cut out/passthrough with a cover that has a finger hole drilled in it to pull it up. What is this for? Thought maybe to drop laundry in the basement area, but that's what the laundry hamper is for. The hole is approx 6 to 8 inches square.Sorry for all the.newbee questions but this unit is so different from the springdale fiver we had.

I would say a laundry chute to the basement. At least that is what I use mine for in my Seville.
