Lippert axles
Lippert axles are garbage. Just replaced mine. Had towed about 3200 kms and had to replace 2 tires. Got an axle/wheel alignment done. 2 years later, 4 more tires. Another alignment done. 2 more tires less than a year. Asked about this at a local axle shop and they said the Lippert axles don't hold the shape. Replaced with Dexter axles, and problems solved. Dexters, complete hub to hub, with brakes, just bolt in, connect electrical for brakes and go, were $400 Canadian! Cheap insurance for the safety of my family and other travelers on the highways.

Wheel/axle 2012 Zingers
Wow, sorry to hear. I pulled mine back from Fl 1200 + miles. With new tires.
Have camped locally since home less than 200 miles.
I've not noticed unusual wear, but likely would be hard to see, with that low mileage.
What I continue to see and is very unsettling because I've watched other dual axle campers (and my previous FR did not do it) is the very contorted look to the wheels when backing and or simply turning. They look so racked vertically (not sure camber or caster).
So assume you only had wear (not to minimize) no catastrophic tire failure.
What say all on these what appear twisted looking wheels?
Also odd you needed realignment again after doing it once.
Thanks all, I've got three more longer trips booked between now and September

Had mine aligned 3 years ago & warranty replaced 1 tire that had nearly worn out in about 5k miles & replaced all 4 brake assemblies due to cheap grease seal & Mor Ryde heavy shackles & wet bolts at about 7k miles, now after about 40k+ miles the original tires have worn very well & no axle problems.

This drawing explains caster, camber and toe.

These illustrations relate tire wear to alignment issues and offer a simple method to roughly check trailer axle alignment.

I thought Lippert had owned Dexter since 2011.

Lippert bought the chassis and slide rights from Dexter, not the axles.
Quote:
Lippert Components, a subsidiary of Drew Industries (DW), a supplier of components for recreational vehicles (RV), has acquired the towable RV chassis and slide-out mechanism operation previously owned by Dexter Chassis Group from EA Technologies for $13.5m.

When I had mine aligned 3 years ago the fellow said Lippert axles were aligned to their specs, but once the rv was loaded for use that all axles were out of alignment & he suggested Lippert adjust their specs for loads & was informed to take care of his business & they would theirs.
