Low water pressure in the shower

Hello all and thanks in advanced for some advice. I have a 2018 CR-zinger 288RR toy hauler. My water pump went out. (internal wiring fell apart) I replaced it with a new pump that was bigger faster and stronger. ( according to the specs.) Before it went out I had sufficient water pressure in the shower to take a reasonable shower. I put the new pump in and went through and ran water through all the lines. (sink, outside shower, toilet, and shower) When I got to the shower on hot or cold I just get a more than a trickle but not a shower spray. The new pump surges as to say not a constant on. I was told that is how it works but I am not sure on that. I get great pressure in the sink and the toilet and even the outside shower. This is a problem that happens when running off of tank water. I have yet to use the shower on city water. Any ideas on what to trouble shoot would be great!!

Hello to a fellow Missourian.

Try taking the shower head odd the hose to see if you have good flow/pressure there. The pump cycling on/off leads to it building pressure but it is not coming out the shower head. Could be something in the head partly blocking it. Also while your in there check the restrictor or remove it your choice.

Let us know if that works or not. Someone else probably has another thing to check. Lots of help folks here.

Also, make sure the ON/OFF button on the shower head is in the on position. I believe in the OFF position there will still be a trickle of water that will come out. Not sure of the reason for that but may be to conserve water while showering or to let the water get to the right temperature before you turn it fully ON.

Just a thought.

So I finally am working on getting the camper ready for a 7 week trip starting in a couple weeks. I disconnected the shower hose from the manifold and found a aftermarket rubber gasket in there. I took it out and put it back together and the pressure was much much better! but it leaks without it. 1st question. Why is the hole for the water so small? Can I drill it bigger? 3rd. IS there supposed to be a washer in there? If so why would you have one in there that prevents flow? Any thoughts?

There should be a rubber washer on both ends of the shower hose. One where it attaches to the faucet and the other end where it attaches to the spray wand. The washer should be of standard size and it is possible you may have a water saver in there somewhere. Check at your hardware store for the correct rubber washer for the hose. Without that washer it is going to leak

There should also be a screen in the spray wand to collect debris and that may also be plugged. Take it out and clean it.
