Question from new owner

My family just bought our first RV. We've camped in the past using friends campers and always in spring or summer months. I have a question about the operation of the heater in my Zinger ZT 300 KB. I turned on the heater for what I think is the first time it's ever ran and even though there was warm air blowing out of the floor vents, there was also cold air blowing from the ceiling and it felt like the ac was running. The thermostat is set to heat and I cycled it a few times with no luck, each time it kicked on the air would run as well. Any suggestions?

Try closing the vent in the ceiling. I use a long pair of BBQ tongs to reach. It's just a lever that you slide, which closes the vent and forces the air out the heat ducts. I think this is part of the function of the fan. You can also set the fan control to AU (auto) instead of HI or LO. I am assuming your system is the same as ours.

Do you have a two-zone thermostat? If so, one zone may be set on heat while the other is on AC..
