Help! Does the height of a trailer use more gas? If that is a dumb question - please do not snicker where I can hear you. We were use to a 27 foot Baja and now we are looking at the tall 33 foot zinger.

Certainly it will take more gas/diesel to pull it. The higher you go, the bigger the block your pushing into the wind.

Thank you "old camper"! we lost our trailer to a straight line wind. destroyed our awning and the insurance totaled it. Shopping for a new camper is overwhelming! Have a good one!

Depending on what your tow vehicle is you can buy a wind deflector that will mount on you truck or SUV and help a little bit.

old farmer is right, height equals wind resistance which will equal a dip in fuel mileage. That said, our zinger is 10 ft tall without the AC and closer to 12 with the ac. It is a heck of a sail behind us. Our old armada would plummet with fuel mileage with towing but the diesel barely drops on fuel mileage when towing it.

Just grin and bare it you are pulling a unit that creates wind resistance and we all have that problem and be what it may it part of the joy of owning and towing a trailer. Enjoy your holidays and help out the suffering government and oil companies.
