We took out trailer out (26BH) for the first time to a back woods campground with no power.

We were there for 2 nights, the battery went dead just after supper on the second night, but we thought no big problem, I will simply back the truck up and plug in and charge the battery for a 1/2 hour or so. Well after 45 minutes the battery was still dead.

Even when we got home after a 3 hour trip the battery was still dead does this sound right?

Shouldnt the truck charge the battery?

Second problem is when we got home the umbical cord had been dragging on the rad and now the insulation has been rubbed off, does anyone know the colour code for the card and plug?

Happy camping.

Oh and on the second trip the front power stabilizing jacks do not work. I suspect it is an electrical connection but maybe not.

Most newer trucks don't hook up the charge wire. You have to do that. Did you have tow viechel running?

a quick google search will bring up the wiring diagram for your 7pin hook up. Thats where I found one to wire the vehicle end on our previous TV.

If you have the factory towing package look for a fuse in the box under the hood and plug it in. Most trucks come with that unplugged, and the dealer at their PDI is suppose to plug it in most do not

Check your fuses in the trailer itself. I discovered that I had blown some fuses on our first outing with our camper.

Power cord wiring,
Looking at the prongs,
Black to upper left Green to bottom half round prong and white to upper right.
Black is power, green is ground and white is neutral.
This for 30 amp.

What I meant to explain in my post was that because I hooked up my battery cables up backward initially and then swapped back to the correct way the trailer fuse for charging the battery was blown. Check that fuse first to be sure it is still good. If your vehicle has factory towing your wiring for battery charging should be there and already hooked up.
