2018 SS289QB awning gas strut not compressing all the way

My awning is sticking out a bit when in and won’t go flush against the trailer when retracted. It appears the gas strut on that side is not compressing all the way and therefore bending the upper arm quite a bit and not letting it close properly. Has anyone experienced this? I’m guessing I may just need to replace the strut, possibly the upper bar as well. Looks like they come in 24” and 26” lengths, any sure which one as it’s hard to estimate the full length while on.

You not only need the length, you must know how lbs of force it is. It should be encoded on the strut when you take it off.

I have the numbers off it, just not finding anything online for it. Will check for other numbers tomorrow.
