2018 Sunset Trail - Slideout Awning Repair

Just got home today from a long pull for Spring Break. Noticed my slideout awning is pulling away at the front edge. Any advice on how to fix this?

I would try a local upholstery/canvas shop or a place that makes boat covers and see if they can patch or repair it.

From what I can see in the picture, it looks like it's pulling out of the grove it slides into.
If that's the case, I would think you should be able to get it back in the grove and put a short screw in the end of it to stop it from happening again.

Looks like the "cord that goes in the pocket/loop has pulled or shrank back into the awning. Do you have extra sticking out the other end? As Lloyd said the fabric has came out of the rail because the cord has broke or shifted.

There is actually a screw in the other end. No sign of a screw having been on the front though. Maybe worth a try.

That’s what I thought too. I checked the other end, but no extra is sticking out. The channel at the front looks like it may be opened up some. Maybe the cord in the center broke and came out....?

My mistake, you are correct Lloyd. Looking at it closer it almost looks as if the rope that goes in the groove is missing from the end of the fabric. Also the track does look separated slightly and may need to be crimped tighter.

If you can insert some type of cord or plastic into the loop before you crimp the track, it may help hold it better. A little glue on the cord will help hold it in place.
