2020 242bh black tank flush

Hi all

My camper came equipped with the black tank flush. When I hook up a hose, turn water on, and open black tank valve I don't see any water coming out.

Is there any other valves that need to be opened for this to work?? I can't find anything in the manual .

How full is the tank? When it less than full, you should be able to hear the water spraying around inside the tank, kind of a muffled swishing noise. There is a check valve just inside the connection that may be defective and not letting water pass. When you turn the water off and disconnect the hose, there should not be much water pressure in the hose. If there is, the check valve is probably defective. Also, check inside the trailer to make sure it is not leaking inside there instead of going in the black tank.

Tank was empty. I did listen and didn't hear anything.

When I disconnected there was a lot of pressure built up.

I guess check valve is bad.

I am having the same issue with our 2021 Volante 3851FL. With the water connected to the flush valve and turned on there is no water going into the black tanks. No spraying sound, not anything. Yesterday I removed the flush valve from the panel and the backflow preventer is working correctly. There was pressure built up in the line between the back flow preventer and where ever the line connects after it disappears under the storage bay. This leads me to believe there is another valve somewhere in the line that is closed or another backflow preventer in the system that is installed incorrectly.

Without removing the underbelly covering I'm not sure how to trace it down.

There is a screen in the fitting that connects to the tank that tends to plug up. I finally removed the screen after it plugged a couple of times, solved the problem.

Are you talking about the screen where the water hose connects to the flush port? If so the screen is not the issue with mine.

The screen is in the fitting that is inside the black tank at the hose connection. Remove the fitting and pop out the screen. Mine is similar to this. https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Waste-Va...RoCJy0QAvD_BwE

I see what you are saying but how do you get to that? By removing the underbelly covering?

You will have to get access to the tank by cutting a hole in the fabric or dropping it. Loosen the fabric along an edge to see where the connection to the tank is. It will be along the side. Cut a hole in the fabric to access it. It is held in place with three screws, remove the screws and the fitting will come out. Be sure the black tank is empty before removing it.

It often is a pinched or twisted hose that leads to the black tank. Check for that also.

Black tank flush lines

I understand and have done a few black tank flushes. Now, I’m wondering how to handle winterizing that line. I have a Crossroads Cruiser.
