careful towing in that white stuff. I know it's not much snow for you guys but sadly here in the south that's enough snow to close schools for a week.

We plan on it. Taking 3 days to do a 2 day trip. Supposed to have wind chills of -20 to -30 tonight and a high of zero tomorrow! Really looking forward to getting out of here!

Now that is ALL true!!!! I grew up in Georgia, near Augusta. Can't wait to get back to where the tea is sweet!!! Also, tired of hearing, "what's a grit?"

Have a safe trip, when in doubt about road conditions, pull over and be safe.

Is'nt that the truth. I remember as a kid you had to get up and listen to the news to see if school was open or not. These days they call it off the night before!

We know you will but have to say it...be careful, have a safe trip.

Remember in the south a bbq refers to pulled pork. It does not mean cooking hamburgers or hot dogs on a grill. That is called a cookout. I have been thoroughly schooled on this by my coworkers. Also in the south meat is almost mandatory with every meal.

Tim the funny thing is they cancel for threat of snow. They go in late because it's too cold but last week when it was so foggy you could barely see the taillights on the car in front of you, the schools were on time.

I remember going to "pig pickin's" with this clear liquid that would warm your belly and make it hard to stand up!

Yep...BBQ is usually any meat (usually pork) cooked slow and on low heat, often on a smoker. If your cookin burgers or a steak you are "grillin" and if you have company it's a "cookout". Of course either method requires a quantity of ICE cold Beer! Meat IS mandatory at every meal. lol.

I work with a vegetarian. I always tell her "My food poops on her food".

My daughter and family moved to Athens in July and really like it. One of my best friends lives in the Augusta area, married to a doctor there.

Well, it is plural as in GRITS. Or, it's POLENTA in modern day America and is perceived as a sign of cachet, not poverty. If you’re not self-conscious about your cooking, go with grits. If you want to impress someone, make a pot of polenta.
