Hey new member here! I just bought my 2016 ST270BH and I love it. I hav been going Thur the coach to get acclaimated with the unit. Got to the awning to retract it out ,but it would not retract back in for some reason ,I check the fuse and that was good ,so I manually retracted it back in and it rolled up backwards. Thanks for any helpful info. Pat Butler
Ours was the same way the first few trips, I had to have DW push the button an I helped it get started by giving the arm a gentle push. Once it started it was fine. Haven't had to do it this year.

We have a new 30 RKS and just completed our maiden voyage. I also have an awning issue. The motor seems under powered as it winds up on the rail crooked unless I assist the rear support arm. Without assistance the rear arm stops about 4-5" from the fully secured position. Slowest awning I ever saw. Also there isn't a limit when extending the awning. It should stop when when it is fully extended, not continue to run and then start rewinding awning in from the bottom. As the awning switch is mounted in the middle of the living room a really poor design. This is our 4th trailer.
Try a little bit of lube on the joints and see it that helps. As far as rewinding, I use the reverse rewind to scrub the inside of the awning as it is rolled up. Your switch location is strange, ours is on our control panel next to the door.
