Considering Sunset Trail 222rb

Hi there. We are looking to upgrade from a 25’ Jayco which no slide to this model. Like the high ceilings, king bed, outside kitchen, length/weight. As far as construction and quality, it seems to be a crap shoot in the RV world and I’m trying to do some due diligence. In the forums I’m a concerned with what I see with floor construction (styrofoam/lean sandwich) and roof construction and sealant quality. What other issues should I be aware of with a Sunset trail?

I can't answer your questions. All I can do is add this.
Just about all the RV's manufactured today are made in a Thor factory. So it's pretty hard to do much brand comparison as far as I'm concerned.
My advise would be to figure out what floor plan you like and would work best for you. Then find a dealer that has a decent reputation for standing up for his product and taking care of his customers.
Good luck.

Most of the fun is in the search. Have fun, and let us know what you decide.

One thing i will add is that ALL manufactures have had the busiest year in a very long time. They have had a hard time keeping up with demand so quality may have been traded for quantity. If you do buy one be sure to check it out THOROUGHLY inside and out.

Also they all have some problems from the manufacturer but a GOOD dealer will make all the difference. Good Luck!

I have this coach. 2021 222rb. I bought it in September. I’m in Montana and have been in it at -5*. I did have some freezing issues at 25*, but after insulating some supply lines and the low water drains, I’ve been ok. I think the extreme weather package is a joke. Other than that I’ve had to tighten several screws, adjust a few cabinet doors, re fasten some trim. Electrical seems solid, all appliances work as expected, no leaks. Tows like a dream, I do wish it had wheels larger then 14 inch. All in all, I’m very happy with our decision to buy this camper.
