Has any one removed the fake cabinet door that hides the light switch and other controls? I was wondering how much of a mess it would leave.

On the ST 27RB the electrical switch door is in the entranceway. I added 2 more spring loaded hinges to the door so it has even more incentive to close on it's own,so it wouldn't be open when you were coming into the trailer. We haven't hit our head coming into the trailer with switch door being open, not yet anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could take the door off and if you don't like it that way, just put it back on again.

CWIT, I didn't say I wanted to remove it. I was just wondering if anybody did. It is kind of a pain trying to turn the lights on in the dark and having to fumble through the cabinet door and all of hte other switches.

I like Fiddick idea a lot and will do, another thought is to move the one light switch to the front of the cupboards. This has been posted here in the old forum and I was going to do this but dw did not want switches showing. Being the system is 12 volts you can put a switch anywhere you can hide wires.

We put in one of those tap night lights. You just have to push it..and it comes on. We mounted it to the inside of the door. It was a thinner one so the cabinet still closed.
It is easier to find in the dark.

I put one of those battery operated LED lights in the bottom of the box. I can always find that one and it does not "feel" like any other switch in the box so I won't get confused.

I like the idea that the switches are out of sight and it's a small price to pay for the once in a while problem. We have a small LED night light on anyway so the place is never that dark.
