First Sunset Trail Problems

Noticed while camping this week that the awning motor is dragging bad, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to pull it in to leave the campground without taking something apart. Luckily it rolled in. This happened very suddenly. It was working fine and then all of a sudden it changed the way it sounds and started coming in and out very slow.

While I have it in for the warranty work on that I'll have them replace the awning led's, I have about 8 of them that have quit lighting up.

Also while I was checking the air in the tires before we left for home I noticed the underskirt near the fender flares was flopping loose when I touched it. Looked under there and a screw head had snapped off that holds it to the frame with an L bracket. The bracket was not bent so I can only assume it didn't hit anything, only that the screw failed.

After 8 months these are the first problems I've had.

You may as well give up on the leds on the awning . I am letting mine go out. seems more every week. They are a waste of time . also keep an eye on the bathroom skylight so the cracks ,that are hiden by the self levelling caulk, do not get bigger. Make sure the black tank flush under the bath sink is tight and does not leak...the list can go on.

On the right end arm of the awning there should be a rubber plug. You can take that out and use a cordless drill and 7/16 socket to manually move awning in or out if it dies. Check video out on YouTube. (Solera Awning Manual Override Instructional Video By: Lippert Components)

Just made an appointment to get it fixed, June 22. that seems like a long way off, I guess they're really busy.

If I get a call for work between now and then it will be really inconvenient, but it is what it is.

Today was my "appointment" at 9 am. I really wasn't ready for this experience.

Service guy says I have to leave it with them. Tells me to park it across the street in their storage lot. Not sure why I had to get an appointment to do that.
Says they'll check it out and if it needs an awning motor they'll have to order that.
Have absolutely no idea when I'm gong to see it again.

Make sure to tell them if you have any vacation dates planned. I had to pick mine up from my dealer last week so we could take it out camping for five nights. They agreed to have it all buttoned up for me so I could use it. They'll call me when all of the parts have arrived and I'll bring it back for them to do the work.

An appointment to park it????

You have better patience than I! I had my truck dealer do this to me once. I made an appointment for a simple tire rotation and warranty check and upon arrival I was asked for a good number to call me at within the next week or so. I explained to them that they can come get me in the waiting area when the truck is finished. The gal at the counter was totally caught in the middle and ran off to get the service manager. Long story short....my truck was done in less than an hour.

My first warranty claim (water pump) started out along the same lines. After I explained that I have a trip planned, the dealer was over an hour away and that I paid for extended warranty service....there were no further issues.

Let us know what you find out on the awning motor. Mine quit on me a couple of times and after a I ran it manually in and out, it has been fine.

Called them yesterday, they said it was moved to outside the shop and they had the parts. Said I should get it back Thursday or Friday. So they will have had it a little over a week.

Got a call today and went and picked it up, so it was only gone a week.

Awning is quieter than when new and all the awning lights work now. Everything fixed to my satisfaction.

The ticket I signed, saying I owed nothing, just saying I agreed the work was satisfactory, also said Crossroads was going to be billed over $700.

Wow.
