Fridge not cooling

We have a 2020 Sunset Trail 291rk. It has a Norcold 12v fridge (n10dcssr). It runs off only shore or battery (no propane)

It has recently stopped cooling. We’ve tested the battery both on shore and off shore power, checked fuses (at panel and on fridge), pulled it out - nothing clogged and ran the testing ( no faults).

The control panel lights up and is functioning , fan and compressor are both running but the fridge just isn’t cooling.

We just replaced the control module - still nothing

Wondering if anyone has had a similar problem with this fridge ( or other 12v)? Any suggestions ?

Also trying to figure out if it’s lost it’s ‘charge’ and can be recharged .. I don’t know how this works on these fridges

Norcold specs say it’s toast … but it’s a $2800 fridge - I’m not giving in to that $$ too easily 😬

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

PS: trailer is level and battery disconnect is on

I found this online, don't know if will help but worth a try:

Quote:
Locate the reset button on your Norcold RV refrigerator. It can usually be found on the control panel or inside the fridge compartment.
Press and hold the reset button for at least 10 seconds until the system reboots.
Wait for the fridge to restart and the cooling system to reset itself.
Check that the temperature is being maintained at a safe level.
If you’re still experiencing issues with your Norcold RV refrigerator, repeat the process a few more times to ensure a full reset.

Not Cooling At All
If your Norcold RV refrigerator isn’t cooling at all, the first thing to check is the power source. Make sure it’s connected and turned on. If it is, there may be a problem with the control board or the thermistor. Inspect the control board for any signs of damage or burnt components. Replace if necessary. The thermistor is responsible for regulating the temperature and may need to be replaced if faulty. You can also check the cooling unit for leaks or blockages as these can also cause the fridge to stop cooling.

Thanks. We’ve looked everywhere and can’t find a reset button. The manuals don’t mention it either so we’re not sure where to find it.

When we look at the control everything looks fine but replaced it to be sure. I’m assuming that thermistor is the thermostat. No idea where that is on this fridge and according to Norcold there’s no part option for it.

They also say that if the fan isn’t working the fridge is toast but they also have a fan replacement part so who knows ( lol )

It’s all very frustrating really

Thanks for the reply !

I had to replace the thermistor on the fridge in our Cruiser. I'm not sure if your fridge has it or not. they're located on the fins of the fridge. (inside right under the freezer. It's clipped on one of the fins and just slides up or down for fine tuning the temp.

But I'm wondering if yours, being an AC model, has that or not.
Here is a link.

Thanks, we can’t find it if there is one.

There are these little vent type things on the side but they aren’t in the manuals and there doesn’t seem to be a way to get them off … would be weird if the fridge and freezer died together . ( I guess stranger things have happened)

Still tinkering ….

Thanks !

Ok wait … those little things are listed on the parts page and are the thermistor.

Could they both go ? Or does one have the ‘main’ control so to speak ??
