I am sure there will be some fading over the years. I have it on my 2 year old truck bed and it shows no sign of fading. That is better than the Gel coat did!!

Tommy, did you a new gel coat on yours or an automotive paint job? The automotive should last for a long time with yearly sealant.
I also saw the Line X used on the roofs of rv's to make a tight seal.

I said I've seen the Line X used on the roofs of rv's to make a water tight seal.

$1500 ouch.
Do you know how much extra weight it added? I have the regular front (not the full cap like yours) and I've heard using LineX type products on roofs/walls isn't recommended because the weight can collapse them.

I find that hard to believe as far as collapsing the roof or cap...The same principal as a track vehicle as opposed to a vehicle on wheels, the load of the track vehicle is spread out along the length of the track as opposed to a wheel where the weight is concentrated in one spot... IMHO

How do you inspect your roof or anything on it, regardless of what you weigh, you are putting more weight on one spot by walking on it than the LineX ever would. As far as price that doesn't sound too bad considering it's $300-500 for a truck bed & the premium colored (that's probably what's on his trailer) costs more but isn't supposed to fade.

I'm not saying it would cause problems, especially for those with the full plastic cap. I had just read on a different RV or towing forum a thread posted by a guy talking about spraying his entire RV with Line-X so he'd never have to worry about leaks. They lit him up saying the weight of the spray liner would cave it in and would be too heavy for the axles.
Heck i jokingly said the same thing when my slide and roof leaked and people gave me crap about doing it for the same reasons. Just wondered, because I'd do my whole trailer if it was only around $2500.
I wonder why no manufacturers have ever offered this as an option. Just make it a premium option for a leakproof TT. I bet they'd sell like hotcakes.

I always use a piece of plywood to spread out my load since I have a non-walkable roof.

Sorry to say but I don't think Longevity is a major concern...Unfortunately sales saturation is a phrase that comes to mind...

According to the Line-X website their body armour product isn't heavy:

WORRIED ABOUT WEIGHT?
Aren’t we all? While LINE-X Body Armour is heavier than traditional automotive paints, it only adds about 50-75 lbs. to your vehicle.

I had Line X dealer in Schererville, IN quote spraying my front cap. The premium color does increase the price. They are at $800 for black and $1100 for brown

I'm in the same boat. My front cap was faded and repainted and now it's fading again. My dealer is a top notch dealer and it's hard for mr to believe it's their work. I wonder if Crossroads sends them the paint to use.

Did they re-coat with a gel coat or automotive paint. Usually those that had it painted with automotive have no further problems with fading.

After mine was painted with color it was also painted with clear coat...I was told that will lock the color in so it will not fade as easily...

Looks like they have not fixed the issue for the 2016 product line. Our 2016 ST30RK is already fading. We purchased the trailer brand new in November. It's only been 5 months...that's pretty bad. I guess our mild winter here in California was just too much for the front cap to handle. We have yet to see a day in the 90's since we purchased out trailer. Luckily my busy time at work is coming up before our 1 year is up. I'll have to bite the bullet and take it in then.

We just bought a used 2013 sunset trail and there are chips on ours. Do you know the paint codes or where to get them? Thanks so much!

Camping World here in Texas had ours repainted by an automotive body shop under warranty. That was about a year ago. We did the cap replacement twice and in 7 month round about each time started fading. So far so good with automotive paint!

When talking to the dealer in TN when we were purchasing our new Cruiser. He told me that ours had some special coating or something on ours because Crossroads had received so many complaints and warranty work due to the front cap fading.
