Dose the surface look a flat black with over spray. If so mine looked close to that and add some cracks and it's mine.

It has a whitish flat cast to it and top decal has disappeared.

These two the odd fading on mine. My truck is grey and most people look at the pictures and think the truck and trailer match.

I finely went to a independent RV service repair shop and had fix the first time.
The warranty hassle wasn't worth it. It was a wash with all the fuel and exaggeration we had.

I really think a lot of the problems start with the dealer. First the dealer doesn't want to deal with any customer problems. There focus is to just sell product. They only work on stuff if you force there hand to do it. The results are half hearted and done very slow. I gave up on mine and had to steel mine back in the late of the night was my only way to get them to talk about the work that was not done correctly and the crazy prices for the added work that was not asked for. Good times,

I just got mine back and the dealer who finally repainted it (at no cost to me) told me that CR has been reducing what they will pay the dealerships to fix these. If I can believe the paint manager, he told me that they are to the point of either breaking even or losing on the repainting of caps now because he personally insists on using high end clear coats. All I know is that my cap looks brand spanking new and I'm much happier and not embarrassed when I go out camping!

Mine is faded. It will stay faded and I can guarantee I will not be embarrassed because I did not sell the crap.

Here is a great article about fading gel coats. Maybe it will answer some questions and generate some more questions.

This site also provides products to help solve the problem.

BnBCampin good that you got your's taken care by the dealer. Others like my self have made the choice to have it repaired that meets my standards of workmanship and quality. And I didn't need to take it back three times and have there for half the summer.

We used to get compliments on ours when it was new, but not anymore! I hope we can get a solution. I know our dealer will not deal with it, so I am hoping Crossroads will help us get back the beautiful travel trailer we purchased.

Ours was just like that except it extended down way past the graphics. I had a friend of mine with a professional car buffer help me sand it down, get it back shiny again, and then put 5 coats of a boat/rv wax complete with UV protection in it. The result: looked horrible again within a month! Yes it's cosmetic, but we paid a lot for our trailer and we deserve to be proud of it. Now that its been repainted, we are SOOO excited about going back out in it. I don't feel like I have to explain that it was a manufacturing defect, not simply me slacking on the maintenance anymore!

Hey PBfly1,
I cannot believe how badly faded your cap is! I am so glad I had my 2012 31BH repainted under warranty because of the spider cracks. Everyone is so right that the looks of the trailer turns so many heads. I can imagine a faded cap will turn just as many heads, but for the wrong reasons. Crossroads should have stepped up to repair faded caps that are less than 2 years old for sure. The way out for them is to quote the warranty exclusions and it says fading and discoloration are not warrantable (basically after your PDI). They need to step up and provide customer satisfaction like they used to before 2012. I guess I will have to apply a gel coat or something in the spring to ensure my repainted cap stays looking new!
