How to hook up Dish

I have a 2018 Sunset Trail 33SI. On the back, I have two coax connectors and at present, looking to put a Dish receiver in. Can I hook it up to the second connection, make sure the amp is off and go directly into the controller box for the dish??? I have heard both that was OK to hook up this way and also, would have to run a dedicated line into the trailer for dish only.
Thanks in advance.

I have Dish on an older TT; on mine I have 2 connections on the rear of the TT, left one is cable right one is satellite. On the inside where my antenna booster is I have 2 connections also, cable/satellite and antenna. I move the RG cable from the antenna booster connection to the cable/satellite connection, then connect the other end to the Dish receiver. That's how mine works.

Thanks for the quick response. I had heard that was doable but you confirmed that. Thanks again
