I have had a few problems with mine also , but in their defense , the tires are Chinese crap, that's why they put nitro in them . BUT they don't balance them . One of mine needs replacing right away as it wouldn't balance properly .( Yes , I balance all my trailer tires....)..the tire is "chucking"ie ;out of round and bouncing on the highway. The other tires required quite a bit of weight to balance. Rims are made in China also...probably not exactly round . But hey ...prices are cheaper from China . To bad we didn't have an option to buy North American parts for our trailers
Don't step in the carpeted area of the big slide when in the 'in' position or you will have the dinette bench come away from the wall. just an fyi

good luck

Please tell why Nitrogen would make any difference in a china made tire?

Nitrogen will not cause as much condensation on the inside of a tire 9less chance to rot from the inside out)as it is more stable than air in fluctuating conditions , hence it 'should' allow the crap tires to last as long as a good old american made tire with just air in it ...

what i've been told anyways .

Hi
As said in this post the tires are Chinese. They are known to have issues for poor quality. The axles are made by Lippert not Crossroads so it is not fare to blame Crossroads on these issues. Blame the Chinese Mfg. and Lippert.
Was wondering how much air pressure was in your tire and how fast were you going when it failed. I would think the people at Crossroads would have taken care of these issues for you.
I do not work or have any connections to Crossroads. They did not pay me or ask me to write this.
I bought a BRAND NEW 2012 Sunset Trail on Sept. 22,2012 from a Dealer in Florida. It was Mfg. by Crossroads Sept.11.2011. I do not know where it was from Sept 2011 till Sept 2012 but it was brand new. I was the first owner. Talk about issues. I was an unhappy camper. It is a long story. It was issues that snowballed into bigger problems. I contacted Crossroads Direct with photos and documentation. Their were 2 pages of issues that you could not imagine. They tried their best to address the issues here in Florida which made it worse.
They arranged to have the trailer picked up at my home in Florida and taken to The Factory in Indiana. They fixed all the issues. They did a few extra things for me that I offered to pay extra for. They refused to charge me for those things.
They flew me to Indiana to inspect the repair work. Put me up in a hotel. Offered to pay for a rental car to get to the factory from the airport. Had my trailer shipped back to my home during the week before Xmas which I thought would have never happened.
I am going this weekend on my first camping trip with the trailer to The Everglades City Sea Food Festival in Florida with my Family. I do not plan on having any problem with the trailer.
I was not asked by Crossroads to respond to this in any way.
All I CAN SAY IS THAT THEY STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE FOR ME AND DID WHAT THEY WERE OBLIGATED TO DO AND WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO CORRECT SOME MAJOR SCREW UPS.
When I find some time I plan on writing in the General RV area about my story.
Bruce

Bruce,
Thanks so much...it is good to see someone who has had monumental problems step up and tout all the CR's did for them. I think that perhaps some of the other poster's don't go through the right method of addressing their problems. I had 2 small issues last year...took it to the factory before the rally and had them taken care of, no cost. When cleaning my slides last fall after our last trip I noticed the gaskets on the tops of the slides were pulling away. After further reading on here I noticed this happens to many people...others perhaps never check those things...I don't really know. Anyway, my first trip of this year starts April 19th and entails 16 states and Canada and will end at the rally in July. Before this trip starts I already have an appointment set up with Randy to take it to Topeka to have them do the annual inspection, fix the gasket problems, repack the wheels, and whatever else it needs after the inspection. I trust them to do what is necessary to make my unit "safe" and ready for my travels. After this 4,000 mile sojourn if when I get back to Topeka for the rally I have any new problems, I will have them addressed then.

Thanks for sharing Bruce,
Jim

I have a similar story though not to your extent but I had a roof problem on my 09 Cruiser and Crossroads took very good care of me.

I think it's great they took care of everyone - now if they could focus that effort on not producing a RV with so many defects that the factory must rebuild it is a good progression of commitment to quality.

The best warranty is the one you never have to use.

I bought a the ultimate lemon, since I purchased my 30RE in june of 2012 it had a tear in the arm of the chair, rock chips on the front cover that they said they would replace, they never did they painted it instead, the TV did not work, the first time we took it camping the microwave started a fire because the door didn't seal and caused arcing to the metalic tag inside the door, the AC was not cycling , on off every few seconds, the power tongue jack broke and when I took it off and brought it in for warrenty replacement it had water in the electrical part of it that was full of rust and leaked in my trunk, the propane cover melted from the sun, the slide is very noisy , the radio turns on by it's self and also turns on the outside speakers and volume goes up all by its self, they had to replace that, and the back window looks like it is going to fall out, when I asked them about it they said ya it could fall out. I was told to use it til summer was over and they would order in the parts, so I brought it in in oct. and they said it would be 3 weeks to fix up, it's now Feb 2013 and I still do not have it back. When I call they say that they are waiting for a new window sash from CR, I finally emailed CR and they said there has been a mix up and that they have to fabricate a new sash to fit, I asked them why does one need fabricated and they have not responded, I asked the dealer and they said something about the wrong one was put in originally and something about the thickness of the wall. When they painted the front cover they got a light grey over spray all over the dark brown weather stripping, looks like primer. So for buying a new trailer I have a trailer that has had more repairs so far than I expected and still have no idea when I will get it back. I have only used the trailer 2 times for a total of 10 days. I thought that this story of the lemon I got would make u feel a bit better about the lemon u have.

Did you buy it in Saskatchewan?

Did you believe your dealer to be reputable at the time? That goes along with what others have said here - buy from a solid dealer - but tough to know if that's the case until things go wrong.

I am on the cusp of a purchase and am looking at a dealer 1.5 hours out of town for the model I want....it makes me uneasy thinking I may have to drive that far to get any issues dealt with as opposed to buying in town.

Max, it's great to have a local dealer (if an option) but if you read into some of the comments here it appears that the warranty process and shipping of parts in a timely manner seems to be an issue. A dealer can be great but if they can't get timely permission to repair or the parts to perform the work it's a mute point.....

I have a great dealer but my unit sat on the lot for almost a month waiting for parts from Crossroads so they could finish the work.
Might have been having to have it shipped to Canada but when I can get things in 3 days it seem like a stretch.

With everything I have been reading here and on other threads, I'm starting to lose faith in ole Tom! What do suppose ever happened to that 12 point promise he was expounding about awhile back???
He certainly wouldn't have been pulling our leg, or would he?????

I agree - it does seem odd that the 12 point promise comes in late in 2012 to SPEED up the warranty process and clear up any misconceptions b/c it clarifies WHO covers what...and yet the delays persist.

I am just glad to see the dealer I am looking at has a BBB A+ rating...there are NO guarantees, but every little bit helps.

Seems like a nightmare to have your RV being held prisoner when it should be hooked up at a campsite.

Max,

Had her for just under a year with about 10 days use last year.
So far so good.
Have a look at my post about warranty work as all of that was covered no problem. No real issues other than the front cap.
As I said we have a great dealer and that gives me some reassurance for down the line. As well we purchased an extended warranty from the dealer for a little more peace of mind. Lots of electrics on these reserve models.

Ian
