Level then slide out, or slide out then level?
I've seen conflicting information about this. I'm curious (I haven't looked in the manual yet) if Crossroads has a recommendation for their slides using Schwintek system?

the two rv's we've had with the schwintek in the bedroom...
we've always leveled first and then put the slides out...
in my simple mind,
level is the most balanced the slide will be and the least strain on the system when you are moving it out...
sometimes I bring the rv to the house from storage to prep or unload, the road out front has a crown and if I put the slides out, the uphill side has a bit more strain going out.. so I usually only put it out the least I have to... yrmw

We leveled then slide out (non Schwintek).
I would think this is best...but depending on how out of level, I doubt it matters.
If you are camping on mountainside, then probably should level/stabilize first.

I prefer to extend the slides before I level. Don't think it says anything in the manual either way. I use the Lynx levelers with the caps to provide a smooth surface.
I was amazed how far it went out of level by leveling first and then extending the slides.....Our unit changed over 3/4" of an inch.....Unless you somehow try to compensate for the opposing weight of the slides your unit will be out of level once the slides have been extended.....This is the reason I choose to do it after everything has been extended.

Through trial and error I have found that if I set up so that MY level reads 1/2 a bubble out before putting the slide out it will go level once the slide is out. The pilot in me has a thing about not being dead nuts level...drives the DW crazy.

I level front to back and then side to side, I leave slide side slightly higher before sliding out, once out I'm level.

8Iron,
When I has a forrest river TT If it was dead nuts level the AC wouldnt drain correctly and I would come back after a long day at work and find water on the floor. One time water got in the control board and shorted it out.
The dealer told me not to get it pefectly level. This was only a problem in very hot and humid weather.

Level
Shane,
I'm assuming then you only have slides on one side? I have two rather huge opposing slides so I think that is why I level front to back first, then side to side, then put all the slides out and it is still level. My dual-facing slides must offset one another I imagine. On my previous 28RKX I only had 2 slides on one side and I had to leave the bubble high on the street side in order to get it close to level. I guess it is trial and error for everyone based on their respective units.
Travel well,
Jim

I usually look to be approx 1/4 to half bubble high on my slide side then put slide out and recheck. This generally gets me pretty close to level when done. I level side to side then front to back.

you have to do side to side first while hooked up to vehicle , to be able to put wood (or whatever used)under tires to level. Then front to back after unhooked..put slide out after level.,open awning then beer. usually in that order.
