Old Hitch

Hello all,

I have in my garage an old hitch and set of sway bars (with chains) for an RV we no longer have. They are probably 18 years old if I had to guess. Are these still safe enough for me to sell? They haven't rusted out, and they've been kept inside in the garage but I don't want to sell them and put any one in danger.

As long as the welds and bolts are solid , I dont see why not. If they were kept indoors ,they will be fine . I see alot of people that do not care about their stuff, and leave theirs on the tongue for years...rusty and old.

The only thing you should find out is the weight rating of it so the new owners don't buy something that is not weighted for what they are towing

If they are in good shape I'd have no problem selling or buying an older hitch. End the end it always comes down to caveat emptor.
