Open or close slides

We have our TT set up at a permanent site. I have been opening and closing the slides every time we come up to camp. Since the TT doesn't move, can we just keep the slides open all the time, even when we are not here?

Yes, but remember to spray the rubber gaskets with silicone so they don't dry out and cause leaks.

I wouldnt leave them out full time. They do settle and move over time. Running them back in periodically seems to make more sense.

I agree with Burgy...More for the fact that the sun and the elements can inflict a lot of damage...So the less surface area on your camper that is exposed the better IMHO...

I'll flip the coin...

We are seasonal campers as well. Slide is open from May to October unless we take it somewhere. I treat seals once a year, which should be done regardless of how often you run them in. I figure less wear on motor, etc. the better.

If you were traveling with it you would be running them in & out, can't see what the difference is...
