This is our second season for our Sunset Trail 25RB. We took possession on 3/31/12 and at the end of the camping season (October) took it to the dealer to address the bathroom wall not being square with the bathroom door. The dealer replaced the wall with the approval of Crossroads and we picked up the camper in November and put into indoor storage. When we picked up the unit ftom storage in April the outdoor refrigerator was not cooling and we reported it to the dealer. After waiting for a couple of months for a determination from Crossroads we were told this was denied under warranty due to being outside the year warranty period. The dealer knew the refrigerator did not work when first tried in spring and indicated they had two others of the same model that were also not working. Are others having this issue? We are now looking at 5th wheels and the lack of product backing is discouraging us from looking at their units. At this time we are leaning towards a Prime Time Crusador.

I can't help you with your issue regarding your fridge other than its on par with every other warranty nightmare on here, but I can say that DWs uncle picked up a 2014 Primetime Crusador earlier this year, and its a beautiful unit. The quality workmanship is much more obvious than my cruiser-- and my cruiser was one of the last ones built by old CR management. If I were in the market for a new 5er I'd be going to the dealer for a closer look at the crusador.

Just to let you know there is no certainty in any rv purchase you could read this:

"We purchased a 2013 Prime time Crusader 355BHQ a year ago May. On the
positive side, the unit tows very nicely using a Silverado 2500HD
Duramax. It is an excellent floor plan for those who camp with kids and
a crowd, We also love the outdoor kitchen. On the negative side,
there seems to be quite a few quality issues that are not major but very
annoying:

1. In the outdoor kitchen, there is a refrigerator. The refrigerator
was secured to the wall with 4 brackets which were screwed into the very
thin particle board. Needless to say, these pulled out immediately.

2. The outdoor drawer does not have any locking mechanism so it opens while traveling.

3. The referrer was placed directly on the wood without any kind of protection so it wearing away the wood.

4. Some of the outdoor seals are coming loose since they were only secured with 1 or 2 screws.

5. The water mixing value was set incorrectly so hot water was luke warm (fixed under warranty).

6. It seems that the sewer drain needs trailer movement to get it
completely emptied. The result is when you open the cap, sewer water
splashes on the ground. I added a valve to stop the splashing.

7. The microwave was secured with 4 screws through the metal/plastic
trim. The trim started bulging and upon further investigation, the
microwave was not sitting on any kind of support and only held in place
with those 4 screws.

8. The drawer in the back bedroom can come loose which makes putting
the slide out problematic since you have to extend the slide to get in
the door to push the drawer back in.

9. The TV was wired to the sound bar with start video cables instead of
using a nice HDMI cable. Additionally, the cabling was done
incorrectly so that cable did not go through the sound bar,

10. Two tires failed (belts peeling off) after only 1 year of use. Not
sure if this is normal or due to the inexpensive tires.

11. You will need a 90 degree fitting on the water connection as well as
use a light weight coil hose so that you don't pull on the fitting.
Otherwise it will leak. I put in the 90 degree fitting along with a
quick disconnect fitting which works fine.

12. Back latter screws pulled loose within the ladder itself. "

It's plain and simple; you can never guarantee that the rv you choose and purchase will be free of defects. It almost more important to choose a good dealer that will give you good warranty service.

Pick out any rv you want to; there will be posts on dissatisfied customers. All you have to do is go to their forum and see what their owners say. You will find lost of complaining posts and not too many that praise the product. Wait a minute, that sounds like our Crossroads forums.

I'm not recommending or endorsing a primetime unit, its just my opinion. I didn't go through the trailer thoroughly, but from what I saw, I think for their price range, they are worth looking into. I know all trailers are going to have their issues-no matter the brand and no matter the price range.
A $120k trailer can have just as many headaches as a $40k trailer. But you are right, a good dealer can get you through all of that as long as the manufacturer steps up and stands behind their product. Its sad that the RV industry is starting to skip out on the quality and the consumer must shop around based on warranty but it seems thats the way its headed...
Just my 2 cents!
And sorry to hi jack the post. Good luck with your fridge issue or your trailer shopping.

Funny we had the same issue with our outside frig in our 25RB. Thankfully we took it back to the dealership after our first camping trip. They said we were not the only one who has had this problem. Though it took a few weeks they did replace it.
