Slide leak
well so far so good...i thought... our slide leaks now at the back bottom corner. Light rain on our last camping trip and stepped in a puddle in the AM by the bathroom.... Heavy rain today and again, smaller puddle with the slide closed this time.
Looks like I'm gonna be in for some fun.

What type of gears on the slide out? I had a leak I tried to find for 2 1/2 years. Finally found it.

Do you have 2 side rails on each side of the slide out that the gears use?

I only see cables... No rails at all. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong place?

Neither one of you guys have the -- make--model-- and year of your rig listed in your signature. So how do you know if you are even talking about the same unit?
This is how to add a signature to your posts:
- Near the top of the page in the black bar on the left, you will see--UserCP
- Click on that. It's your control panel.
- Scroll down a little and on the left side you will see-- Edit Signature.
- Click on that and type in what you want for your signature
- Remember to go to the bottom of the page and click on Save Signature.

It looks like you have 2 rails on each side of the slide out top and bottom. Verify this for me. This is where I found my leak.

Is it possible to send me 2 pictures.1 of the side of the slide out and 1 of where the water was in the bathroom? My email is clembo53@gmail.com.

clembo53 Thanks for adding your camper but could you please add the model. As in my signature you will note i have a 2005 cruiser 29ck. This helps others to help you better if they know what you have and are working on.
On your slide question maybe you could start another thread with your question about your slide using your camper model - 2012 Sunset Trail Reserve ____ leaking slide or something along those lines. That way someone with that model camper may have had that or a similar problem and have more insight into a solution.
Also on the slide system after a real quick search some had the kind with a "rail" top and bottom and some had the "cables". Not sure why without more investigation.

Aluminum rails mean shwintek slide , yours is a bal cable system. Cables ahould have nothing to do with leaking.

That is correct. But my slid out did leak at the rails. It took 2 1/2 years to find. That is why I needed to verify what type of rails.

It's the bottom corner that leaks. In the pic with the slide in you can see the moisture and seems like splash marks on the side of the cabinet. I've literally sat in there during rain and haven't seen anything dripping but water builds where the floor meets the wall near the slide

Just going through the same issue on my 26RB 2016. I have the cables on my slide. We found a very wet corner under the bench seat. I removed the top and bottom cable bracket and resealed. Removed the rub rail on the slide and resealed. We will see if that does it.
Talking to the dealer, those two items are most likely the cause if no water stains are present on the ceiling.

I had my slide start to leak last fall. After inspection I found the 4” white tape that goes along the top of the outside of the slide had started to come up on the edges and also I had a tiny hole one the top corner where it turns down the side. Put regular caulking all along the edges of the tape and on the corner until I could get back home from a month stay. Then this spring before my first trip I removed all the caulking I had patched it with; removed the tape and cleaned the residue glue from the tape backing. Retapped the top and over the side edges. Then finished with Rv caulking along the edge of the tape on both sides.
