Slow awning?

May just be my perception but it seems the awning takes forever to extend and retract. In actuality, it's probably about a minute and a half to two minutes.

What's normal for the standard sized awning?

Just want to make sure I don't have a weak drive motor.

Thanks!

How long does it takes yours to extend or retract?

Our carefree on the redwood was long enough to almost cause damage when the wind came up and we tried to get it in !!!

We ended up either leaving it in or tying it down with strong bungies hooked to these home made hooks:

It must be a Carefree. As long as this is "normal" for this particular awning...

My Carefree takes about 10 seconds to extend.

On the redwoods, some had tried heavier wiring, and/or stronger batteries, but think it is the weak motors...

we might all get on carefree's facebook page and 'ask' about it, to see if public 'encouragement' might help get a resolution
