We've owned our 26BH for just over a year, but we rarely ever use the awning. We bring it out once every week or two, but not much more than that.

The other day I unrolled it and noticed there is a small 2" long slit in the awning. It's only about 4" ~ 6" away from the edge where it is fully closed to the trailer. No idea how this happened. There was no debris up there, no visible sign of it being bowed up like an acorn or something got in there, and I'm not even sure that this part of the awning actually gets wrapped in, I think it's the last bit of material that stays on the top side of the arm as it's wrapping.

Plus it looks like it was down with a razor blade it's so clean.

Any ideas if this is a sign of things to come?

Thanks.

Not sure what happened but I would seal it as soon as possible. I personally would try Gorilla tape. Hopefully others who have experienced this will respond with ideas. There may be a specific product to use

My daughters awning got a small hole 2years ago. She bought and put on actual awning repair tape. Bought it at Walmart. Its clear and very sticky. Its still on and holding today. BrianEdited by: Badwin

Sounds good. I'll get it patched up asap. I just can't imagine how it happened. Kind of concerns me that maybe the material is no good and not able to handle the sun drying it out or something and making it brittle. Looks more like a crack in a seam or something.

Will patch it and see if anything else arises.
