Solar ready

I have a sunset trail 2022 rb it has a plug that says solar ready. I have a go power solar panel that is not working. . I spoke to the go power people and they said it is because the solar ready plug is not connected to the battery. They also said it’s an easy fix once I find the wire that leads to the battery. I cannot find the wire that runs from the solar plug to the battery. Does anybody know where I can find that? The panel works when it’s connected directly to the battery so it’s not the panel. Thanks

Solar ready usually means that it is only wired for solar. In other words, there should be leads coming from the roof to the pass through or somewhere inside the trailer. In addition to a solar panel you need a solar controller. The solar controller, or charge controller/regulator, maintains the battery/batteries and prevents overcharging. It is installed between the solar panel and the batteries.

My Rockwood came with a 200W panel on the roof and a 30 amp Go Power GP-PWM-30-UL controller installed. It was wired with leads going to the batteries.

solar ready on my last trailer meant a proprietary plug on the side that was wired directly to the battery. I bought a controller and spliced in between the plug and the battery. I also found a generic plug-in so that I could use any kind of gear.
