Solvit - How much should I buy?

I have read a lot about Solvit on this website and want to try it on my RV roof and slides. How much should I buy? I understand they sell it by the case or 5 gallon. Maybe by the bottle. The person I talked to at Solvit, wasn't able to recommend a quantity.

Lloyd turned most of us on to Solvit. It is a great product and has replaced many household products for us. It works wonders on the RV roof. We order it by the case.

I just received a case of 6, and it seems a little goes a long way. My recommendation is to buy a case. It should last a very ling time.

I just purchased a case of 6 and they shipped it out today. The company sent kudos to Lloyd for promoting the product.
All I had to say is I was using it for an RV and they said I must have talked to Lloyd…

Anyone have a link for where to buy this?

Or a picture of the bottle so I'm certain im looking for the correct stuff. There's another product called de-solvit and another from Australia.

I had the same questions. The company no longer has a website and the only way to get it is by a phone call to them. The other product you mentioned is not associated with Solvit and is a completely different product. Just for example, the cost of six bottles was $27 w/$18 shipping to TX.

I thought i read somewhere that citrus based solvents weren't good for the rubber roofs so wanted to make sure i found a well liked & reviewed product to use.

Lloyd, what is your preferred mixture ratio for cleaning the roof? Just what the can states or something different?

I can't honestly answer that.

I probably use it a little stronger then what the directions state. When I'm up there with a bucket of water trying to get stains out, I also have a little shaker bottle with solvit. (old spice bottle)
Just remember to rinse often. The white residue from the roof will hang on the sidewalls if you don't. If you plan to do the sides after the roof, it's not that much of an issue.

I read the same in my owners guide. No citrus based products on rubber roof. Anyone know why??

I don't know where the concern over Solvit being a citrus based product came from???????
To my knowledge it's not. It has a nice pine fragrance.

All citrus based cleaners are actually a type of acid. Citric acid. Citric acid is an alpha hydroxy acid and used as an active ingredient in chemical peels. I believe it has a damaging effect on the roof material.

But as Lloyd said, Solvit is a pine based cleaner.

While researching the product I found another one that is in a spray bottle and is citrus based. It appears the one Lloyd recommends is not. I will be buying some before my first rood washing.
