Some Sunset Trail Quality Issues and a Question

Hello All,
We purchased our 200RD Sunset Trail last May. We love the layout and large amount of storage. We found that having no slide-outs is actually okay and "one less thing"... however we have had a number of warranty issues, resulting in some hassle and back and forth with the RV to the dealer, but they have made good on everything so far, even extending our 1-year warranty due to Covid. Problems have included: TV antenna not connected, sail switch that runs the heater went out, microwave housing is cracked on both sides, mini blind threads quickly frayed from up and down use and now useless. As stated, they are fixing everything and we still love our RV, but hoping this is it with the problems. My question to this group is if anyone has had a similar experience with the blinds, especially the large one on the back window, and has changed them out for something more durable.

We had the same problem on one of the blinds on our 2013 Zinger. We found there was a little plastic protective housing missing around one of the strings and resulted from the string becoming frayed from opening and closing the blind, then finally broke the string. Ordered a kit on—line - but the kit didn’t work for our blind. Ended up taking the blind down and just spliced the line together. Was a bit tricky to restring, but seems to be working fine - and is much cheaper than buying a new blind.

I had one of mine break a string a few years ago. Went to a sporting goods store and bought some of the string they use in repairing archery bows. Exceptionally strong and has a coating that makes it nice and slippery. Tricky to restring but worth the effort. Wont break again in my lifetime lol.
