Spray port not working
Hi all
I have a new sunset trail 289qb. Everything works great but the spray port has no water. Shower, bathroom, toilet are all working but the outside spray port doesn’t work. It seems there is a valve or something for this to work that I am missing? Anyone else experience this? What’s the solution?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Hello and welcome!
A little puzzled --- by spray port do you mean the outside shower or possibly the black tank flush? Sometimes people call things by different names.

On the back of the TT there is a “spray port” where you can quick connect a hose (trailer came with a blue coiled sprayer hose). There is no water coming out or any indication of pressure (air). I am connected to city water. Any idea is appreciated.

Why do you think it's a "spray port"?

I did a little research and dealers are calling it a "spray port"
On the rear of the camper there is a "hatch" that you flip open to access a quick connect to attach a water hose - the coiled kind with other side of the quick connect. The same thing as a air hose and attachments.
If the hose is connected and no water comes out first disconnect the hose and blow thru it to check for a blockage. Then if that's good check on the inside of the camper opposite the connection - under the bunk or under the outside kitchen sink. My last camper had what they called a beer and bait "garage" with one of those connections. They just called it a hose connection thus my confusion on the term "spray port". There was no valve to it and we only used it once just to see if it worked.
You also stated the camper is new so i would call them to see what they say.

If it is a true quick connect and there is no shut off valve, then possibly water pressure is too low to push the quick connect valve off of the seat?

Dagst1 has the problem/port described perfectly.
The dealer has no repair tech on the weekend since covid so I’ll have to wait for an official word until Monday.
It is a quick connect and I’ve used a screwdriver to manually engage the valve and there is no water. All my other water works but not this port. I’ll get a drop of water but no flow.
Thanks again everyone.

I upgraded my 2015 old type outdoor shower to a detachable hose type. With this arrangement, there is a fitting that screws onto a hose, and that fitting goes into the shower valve and releases a check valve. You cannot get water without that fitting.
I bet that is what you have. The only difference is some newer models do not have both hot and cold water.
That fitting should have come with your RV. Mine fit rather tight at first, so maybe yours is not seated completely into the port.

I understand that the fitting may not be tight enough to engage the valve. I get that but my issue is that even when I engage the valve with a screwdriver there still is no water.
I’m hoping that it’s just something dumb but two of my buddies couldn’t figure it out either (maybe we all are dumb).

have you checked under the bunk? There may be a shutoff there or around the outside kitchen.

Spray port Problem solved
Hi all
First, thanks everyone for trying to help.
Turns out there is a check valve on the back of the spray port (quick connection) that was stuck in the locked/closed position. A little pressure in it released it and now the port works perfectly.

Thanks Mrm808 ! It worked !
Hey there,
I Just bought a brand new RV few months ago and after few use of the Spray Port only, the valve at the back did got stuck just like you just mentionned Mrm808.
With your information, I was able to free up the valve (from inside the outdoor kitchen) without having to remove the whole spray port from the RV. I just needed to put back the little plastic ring and valve into place (it was actually a bit crooked which is why it was stuck) Now it work like a charm. Hooray ! See the pics
Thanks for help and hopefully it can/will help someone else in the same situation in the future.
Cheers !

Have a 2021 sunset trail (new). Only get a few drops of water when I press the quick connection with a screwdriver.
Wondering if I need to be connected to city water supply for this feature? All other pluming working fine, but I am on freshwater supply tank and not on city water hook up. Quick connect seems to move ok, only a few dribbles of water. Anyone else had this? Looked in the outside kitchen for a shut off valve or something and didn’t see anything. Is there maybe a valve in the main kitchen inside a cupboard somewhere? Will check for that next.

The check valve needs the quick connect fitting. Also see the previous posts. It may be stuck.

Outside Spray Port not working
I guess I should have mentioned that I originally tried the blue coiled hose complete with the quick connect fitting that came with the trailer. No good.
That’s when I used a screwdriver so I could be sure the quick connection was being operated. Thanks for the response though. Haven’t had a chance to look for a control valve inside the rv. I’m thinking there won’t be one because otherwise I’d probably see absolutely no water at the spray port.

Had a look at my outside spray port. Quick connect (air hose style) connector works fine. Problem is with the check valve between the outside quick connect and the water supply line. Accessed it from the outdoor kitchen all good. But the check valve that looks similar to pics posted above does not function properly. Either missing a part or assembled/ installed wrong. Valve plunger has a spring installed and is housed in a cage but will never operate.
Can either reverse install the check valve plunger (which will then be open all the time) or just remove so the quick connect fitting (mounted on outside of trailer controls water.

I am familiar with the check valve for the outside shower because I replaced my older outdoor shower faucet with a cheap short hose, to a shower faucet with the quick-connect and check valve, so that I can add any hose I want.
It was rather inexpensive.
Perhaps you should consider just replacing the faucet?

Outside spray port
Thanks for the info. I have an exploded view photo of the valve assembly.
Just need to figure out how to post it here to help clarify things. Lol.
