My entry is strutted and opens half way. Has anyone modified theirs to make it open all the way and attach to the outside of the trailer like on many other models? The strut is nice but the door seems to be in the way when left open. Thanks.

when I want to open the door fully, I popped the strut off by lifting the clip on both ends. I was thinking of installing a T clip to hold it in the full open position like alot of other trailers. For now I just use a bungee.

My 2012 trailer has the T clip or at least I believe that is what it is called, it allows me to open the door up nearly all the way. A friend bought the same model but has a 2013, CrossRoads changed to the strut on theirs. My guess is because the cheap plastic piece which is used to hold my door open doesn't hold up well, with occassional wind/use last year it is very bowed and I have been told the plastic will eventually get brittle and break. The one thing I don't like with the strut is that the door only opens half way but it sounds like cw3jason has a work-around.
