We are considering a Sunset Trail 250RB. Looking for some input.

We have the sunset trail reserve 25rb and absolutely love all the storage and the fireplace and countertop space. This RV is so well thought out. You will love it.

We have a 2014 250rb & have been very happy. Purchased 9/13 & had approx 5k on by end of year with another 6500 mi in 2014. Very few warranty claims, with support from dealer( small independent in south al), supporting photos from both us & dealer. & CR didn't argue.
Haven't done anything this year due to a bilateral knee replcement & back surgery(sins of my youth) but preparing for another 5-6 I this fall.
Keep up with normal maintenance(tire presure, repacking wheel bearings & root maint.) & enjoy.
Good luck & be safe.

I would take a look at the 26RB as well. Having the kitchen slide out opposite of the dining area makes a huge difference and you gain countertop space with an island. You also gain the standard options of a reserve with power everything.

It's an extra 1K in weight, but if you have the right TV, it's not an issue. Let us know what you end up with.

I would not suggest anything from Crossroads. I would agree the floor plans, looks, and features are great. However, the quality is terrible. I purchased a ST300BH at the end of April 2014. I have had it back to the dealer 6 times already. Each time I take it back there are at least 10 things wrong with it. They are mostly minor things, but they are still breaking. Crossroads has now told me that they do not care about anything else that goes wrong, because the warranty is up. I was hopeful they would stand behind their product since I have been having problems, but that is obviously not the way they care to do business. Be cautious with your purchase, and don't be fooled like I was.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I am new to the RV world and took delivery of my unit in April of this year. To date, I have only had a small wood trim piece that was stapled at the top come loose. ZERO other issues. I shopped every manufacturer I could and found CR to have the best features and quality overall. Maybe I am one of the few to experience anything major to date, but two trips logged and I could not be any happier with my decision.

Have you documented your issues (photos/conversations/trips to the dealer) and copied everything to CR? Maybe your dealer is the root cause of poor service.

All the trailer manufactures are having the same issues. Hop over to the keystone forum and you will see all the same complaints. You need to be a little handy to own a trailer. Also I don't feel you can bash a company who will not service your rig for free after the warranty period is over. Sometimes you catch more Flys with sugar instead of vinegar. Crossroads actually fixed my slide issue a whole month out of warranty, because they knew the problem existed from the beginning and I did not bash them.

If you are towing with your existing TV, great choice. If you don't mind me asking, why are you considering an upgrade? Trailer is similar to your existing one.

We love our Z1...But it was our 1st TT and we have learned we want more bathroom and a slide.

Our Z1 is 25' with no slide..but excellent features and Crossroads has been very good to us. We have had very few issues and all were handled in and out of warranty.

The 2016 Sunset Trail 250RB is 28" with a large slide. The layout we really like. After spending 2 hours over 2 trips in it at the dealer we feel it works well.

We looked at 22 trailers including 5th wheels as I have GMC Sierra 1500 as a dedicated tow vehicle now..but we do not want to buy too much trailer (That does not sound right after I read it here) nor do we need / want a bunkhouse.

We found another brand that looked good...but Crossroads has been good to us and we learned so much at the Rally. (Our Pictures on here tell the story) So we decided stay with Crossroads.

We have been planning to upgrade in the future however recently my father died in a car crash on the way home from my brothers funeral. The sound of the life clock got louder..my wife I decided we did not want to wait...time is short.

First, our hearts go out to you and your family on you losses, that's unfathomable tragedy.

Yes, your right on mark when it comes to realizing time is short and often taken for granted.

If your are looking for space, why not the 290RL. a couple hundred pounds more and lots more living space. Your 1500 should be good.

Thanks - is been a rough year.

The 290RL is over 30 feet. 30 and under and I get have it at home. Over 30' means a storage lot. We love having it home. The restriction has to do with ingress and egress from the residential street. Have a 25' now we were able to test and measure to confirm our max length. Otherwise it would be a contender.

My condolences Gary.
That was a tough one for you folks I'm sure.
You are so right on the sound of the life clock. None of us know when it will stop ticking. So I say enjoy what you enjoy while you are here to do it.
Wishing you and yours all the best.

I'm new to the forum, and today we leave to go pick up our Sunset Trail Reserve SF33RL. The post from the disgruntled customer above could be on the Keystone forum, the Good Sam forum, IVR forum and more. It doesn't matter what brand.

Gary: how tragic. My sadness is for you and your family right now.

Just throwing it out there....... ST220RB is what my wife and I have. I see you have 2 dogs. We have one BIG dog. We have plenty of room but 2 may be a bit much. It does have a slide too. Weight is 4875lbs pulled by 2010 F150 4.6L V8. Even though it is couple of feet longer, it (250RB) may be heavier than you think.

We've had our 250 for a little over a year and love it very much. Can not wait to use it again. Not enough weekends in the summer.

I will never buy another Crossroads product again! Our 2014 Sunset Trail 300BH is going to have to have the whole front end cap replaced because of warping!! We have also had some other minor problems that had to be repaired. Crossroads does not stand behind their product and refuses to even talk about a possible resolution since our camper is now 16 months old. A $30,000 dollar camper should not have the front end warping and rippling. And apparently it is not an isolated problem with just our camper!! They got our money and now don't care about customer service or standing behind their product.

I'm not sure many rv manufacturers will do repairs outside the warranty period. Does not happen with the auto industry either. BTW, the front caps are not manufactured by Crossroads and this problem has been an industry wide issue.
