The T-58 is a quick and easy fix for now, I don't want to start cutting and taping the underbelly cover.

If it were me, I wouldn't cut the membrane. I know it seems like daunting task to
drop the membrane. It really isn't as bad as a person thinks it is.
If you don't know where the valve is located for sure, try feeling around to locate it. Then drop a small area so you can look around in there. Once you know where it's located, then you can decide how much has to come down.
You might not have to drop very much to work on it. Worse case is, you might have to talk the wife into helping you hold it back up till you get it started back in place.
