Sorry if this has been asked before. Been some time since I was on this forum. Glad to be back and looking forward to the camping season.
I am looking to change out the factory garbage rubber on my SS26BH. Currently I have the 205/75R15 tire size.
I would like to get a little more height and a D rated 8Ply tire vs the C rated tire that came factory.
My question is will a 225/75/R15 tire fit in its place? I calculate the Sidwall height @ 6.64" on a 225. Sidewall height on the 205=6.05". So not a huge difference. Want to ensure enough clearance between top of tire and bottom of trailer.
I also realise that the 15" factory aluminium rim may not be able to handle the 225?
Any help or anyone that has researched this or has done this would be appreciated. I am looking at going with the CARLISLE RADIAL RH. Any feedback on this tire too is helpful.
Cheers !

if you want to stay with the same rim , carlisle has a d rated 205/75 15

Just go to a tire store and buy them...they may give you a credit on the almost new tires for resale and free mounting and get them BALANCED...

I don't believe you would have to change rims to go to the 225 vs the 205. However, going from a Load Range C to a Load Range D is going to increase your recommended air pressure. Make sure your wheels are rated for the higher air pressure.

225's use a wider rim than 205's. also a 6 bolt vs 5 bolt ,so 10" brakes vs 8" brakes .

So bottom line to go from a 205 to 225 is not possible due to rim requirments and brakes?
However I am thinking increasing the load rating from C to D will be much more robust and carry the trailer weight better? Or is this not the case? The D rated are a little more pricey and I understand they run at a higher pressure. Not an issue to me.
