Very disapointed!

Hello all,
I have been a member here for the last year or so and have been reading many helpful threads.
I recently moved my household from NJ to Wa. We took three weeks and hit all the major sites and NP's on the way. 3,267 miles of towing my trailer and riding with my family.

As title says, I am very disapointed. Disapointed in the fact that nothing noteworthy occured. No flat tire, no bent axle, no slide issues, no leaks, cracks, fires, fuses or the like. I am disappointed that I have nothing to write to you about along my travels.

Other than the fact that my ST 31SS held up to some of the worst roads I have ever driven on and it held up. Other than a bent hitch pin. I must have put my slides in and out a thousand times and they worked just fine.

What I am trying to say is, as far as a product, my trailer held up well. Preventive maintanence is a must. Had I not ensured the axles were greased up I am sure they would have gone.
Just like my TV, preventive maintanence goes a VERY long way.
I want to thank many of you old heads for some of the tips and tricks you post.
I had a memorable trip in the trailer with my family. I look forward to taking it all over the Pacific North west.

Happy trails and safe towing to you all.

Here is my advice to you who travel.

"Sleep when you can, poop when you have to. You never know when you will get a chance to do either again".

Lloyd,

I will be living in the southern Tacoma area.
I have been here three days and already learned that I will not travel south on fridays, nor north on sundays. I5 traffic is just as bad as NJ/NYC area.

Welcome to Washington. Glad you had a great trip and all went well. I can attest to the I5 corridor as being bad. We drive that route often to see in-laws in Southern Wash and the DW refuses to drive on weekdays due to traffic. Good post.

Welcome to Wa! now here's the best piece of advice. I5 will get you to work and back. Learn the other routes quickly. There are a lot of places to get lost in out here, most of them are a nice adventure. Oh, and buy a good cover for your TT. The green overcoat all our RV's acquire is never very far away.

P-Fam #2; That is great to know, and I'm so glad you shared that with everyone. When I read the title of the post I was almost afraid to open and read it....... kinda like being scared of the phone when my ex calls.

Happy Camping!!

maintenance is key

I absolutely agree. Anything that is mechanical and rolls along bumpy roads needs regular maintenance.

I have to chuckle at people I know that whine when their vehicle breaks down and they haven't touched it in years. They ask me to fix it I just send them to a shop, I can't be bothered.

I know when I pick up my new to me st 31ss next month I'll go thru it tip to stern before it hits the road.

Great to hear yours has been good.
Cheers!
