Walk on roof - No ladder fitted

Hey folks, my 2019 262bh sunset trail does not have a ladder installed. From reading the threads it looks like I can’t walk on it. I was thinking of cutting plywood sheets and attaching foam to the underside, so the foam is between the roof and the wood. I’m around 200lbs and wonder if this would be ok? Or is there a better way for me to access the roof to clean and inspect...

Thx

I used the largest pieces of 1/2 inch ply wood that would fit between everything. And then I crawled around spreading out the contact area.

I'm 265lbs, Just make sure you cross over a few roof ribs to support the weight.

my 2010 sunset trail has no ladder... I clean the roof once or twice a year with no issues.
I guess one step will tell you whether you can or not, but its definitely better to err on the side of caution. Have you asked your dealer this question? Hopefully another owner will chime in with their experiences.

Prior to the 2020 models, ladders were not installed because the roof is not considered "full walk-on". The 2020 models have a full walk-on roof with factory installed ladders.
Older models can be damaged if you step in the wrong areas, so best to use some type of extra support, such as plywood sheeting.

Thx for the advice. I used 1/2 “ plywood and lay on them. I didn’t want to risk walking on it. Nevertheless it worked, all seals were fine...👍
