Rick,
And we are suppose to bring a dish to the pot luck - right? What time will we have dinner on Thursday?

Also, will the Thursday breakfast at Blue Gate be at 9:00 AM?

Thanks.

Since a number of things are being done by the attendees, I thought we should have an addendum to the original rally format. I believe this is a compilation of what has been discussed thus far with one exception - Who is interested in playing Corn Hole on Friday evening after dinner?

2014 CrossRoads Rally | July 17th – 20th

●◊● All meals will be served in the Pavilion. Please be sure to bring your own plates, utensils & drinks.

Thursday July 17th

6:00PM - Dinner: Pass-A-Dish (Pot Luck) for those that are coming early. Those who wish to attend, please bring your favorite dish or dessert to pass.

Friday July 18th

8:30AM: Breakfast at the Blue Gate Restaurant in Shipshewana. There will be a sign up sheet in the office or you can let Rick (nutabt24@htc.net) know by Thursday afternoon. Rick will let the restaurant know the number attending so we can seated together although it is “Dutch Treat”.
12:00PM – 1:00PM: Lunch & Introductions at Campground - lunch provided by CrossRoads

7:00PM: Corn Hole game – Who is interested in doing this? If you have a corn hole board, please bring it.

Saturday July 19th

5:30PM – 6:00PM: Decorate a theme table for the evening meal.

* * * Silent auction bids end at 6:00PM - Winners will be announced shortly after dinner clean-up.

+++EXTREMELY IMPORTANT+++

We need volunteers for several committees. Who can volunteer to help with any of the following activities? All of us are part of the rally and all of us are needed to make it work well. If you can volunteer for any of the following committees, please comment here or send me an email at boderrving@gmail.com.

Welcome Meet & Greet – Pass out welcome packets, show ralliers to their sites.

Clean Up / Trash – After every meal, we need help cleaning up.

Sunday Breakfast – It will not fix itself so we need some cooks and grills.

Thanks everyone. It looks like this rally is getting better every year.

Tony/Nancy,
I had never heard of this game until my son-in-law and friends played it. Since he was from the Midwest, I assumed that is how it got it's name. I agree with Mark that it probably has other names around the country like Tailgate, Bean Bag Toss, and so on.

Simple scoring: Players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches the score of 21.

SIL's boards look like this"

Hopefully, we will have several people bringing their boards.

Cornhole playing is almost a religion in Virginia! Had never heard of it til we moved here. It got a giggle out of our family to begin with, but since we come from a place where "horseshoes" is very popular, it fit. I'm better at the horseshoes, but after a small adult beverages, cornhole is pretty fun.

We will be bringing our boards. I think that the "corn hole" name came from the fact that the bags are filled with corn.

That's the same for the bean bag toss. Bags are filled with beans.

Hey Jean,

For the potluck dinner are we suppose to bring anything specific or what we want to bring? Are you looking for more main dishes or side dishes?

Thanks
