Backyard grilling
Hi there, sorry if it sounds dumb but I really need a good advice
I'm building a grilling corner at the backyard, it has been my dream for years
And I'd love to buy a nice grill
I've heard a lot of good stuff about Primo but so I've heard about Traeger and Weber
I'm trying to read grill reviews (like this one), but they lack personal experience
Could you please help me choose? I'm not sure whether it's better to buy gas, charcoal or electric grill...
The budget is around $1000 but less is better

I use a Weber natural gas model, nice not to worry about running out of gas.

I'm planning my outdoor kitchen, it'll be very compact due to the the size of the backyard & fairly certain I'm getting a Traeger pellet electric (actually the imitation Traeger). My son has one, it'll grill, smoke, bbq, roast, bake or any other cooking you could do with the flip of a switch & fill the pellet hopper.

Thanks a buck fifty doesn't seem that unreasonable if you like making & eating a lot of Pizza...I LOVE eating Pizza not so much the making part...

Tommy, I'm not sure they are available right now. Anyway I had forgotten, I gave up on them. Main reason the stone is a little to small. The pizza we get would hang over the edge.
I've got a Green Mountain pellet grill
It really does a nice pizza.

We have a Traeger pellet and use it all the time. Sometimes I would like to use briquettes to get a really hot glow for steaks but the Traeger is hard to beat. Add the dial temp setting rather than the standard “smoke, cook, grill” settings. You can really infuse different smoke flavors by using different pellets (mesquite, maple, hickory, etc)

I love my traeger. It’s old and I have replaced most parts but the customer service and quality are excellent. I’d recommend buying it from Costco. They have a great deal on pellets and grills. However, I also have a charcoal grill. Personally, I think it’s a must to have both. I bought a $97 “expert grill” from Walmart and it is seriously the best grill. Small but functional.

Been barbecuing for 50 years. Mostly on propane.
I am not sure why I decided to try a Weber G anywhere grill and one of those chimneys to light the briquettes, in the fifth wheel.
That monster gets to very high temps and produces the best steak possible.
Since my old propane grill at the house is nearing its end. I likely will buy the nicest Weber charcoal grill. I just think the stuff tastes better. Being retired, I have time.

Late to the party but I use a Pit Boss pellet grille. Do all my moose meat and fresh sausages on it. Pork loins and chickens are great too. Have a pizza stone we do our homemade pizzas on. We make our own dough too.

Just got a Davy Crockett model GMG for the 5er. Love it so far.

At home we have a Oklahoma Joe's 3n1 - Gas/Charcoal/smoker. For camping a gas grill that we rarely use. We always have a camp fire so we cook over it. I also carry a 2 burner camp stove for fish fries or a shrimp boil.
