Black tank smell/decomposing hack!

So after 25 years of camping. My wife came up with the perfect system (for us) hack for the black tank. As everyone knows the prices have gone up on everything. So, before this trip we’re on now, we were talking about the black tank chemicals. So, at home we always add one pack of yeast per toilet, once a month to our septic system to keep everything decomposing; which is the life maintenance of the septic system. This is what she came up with. Use an 8oz pack or liquid of the camp fresh black tank chemicals and one pack .25oz of yeast. We use the great value from Walmart. So we’ve been on our current trip 12 days now and we usually dump the black tank every 4-5 days. We’ve noticed that it has significantly reduced the smell and by looking through the clear elbow when I dump, it appears the contents are completely broken down. The yeast packs were 99 cents for a three pack at Walmart. Before this she would use 4 packs of the camp fresh to control the odor. I hope this helps someone else.

Just wanted to share a cheeper effective alternative. Cheeper and certainly reduces the odor better than just using black tank chemicals. IMO

I have heard it called a few things, including Poop Spice. Calgon and Pine-Sol is what I put in my empty tank after dumping. Only when I am boondocking do I add any kind of digester.
