Tommy, I realize that it's probably tough around the denser populated areas.

But, we spent about 3 weeks north of here in the latter part of Sept. into the first part of Oct. The campground was never full, and some nights we were the only ones there.
Now I will add this place probably wouldn't be for everyone. They didn't have full hookups, only electric. There was showers, potable water spigot, vault toilets, and everything was kept clean. Price was right too. $25 a night or $125 a week.

OK I understood everything you said except vault toilets...Is that the same as a out house..? Also we have friends in Va. that said it was difficult getting reservations at some of the campgrounds they frequent

An out house is just a hole in the ground with the house set over it. That dates back a long long time.
The vault toilets are just that. A cement vault to catch everything, and they can pump it out when needed. The house setting on it is also cement, floor, walls, and roof. It can be used for a storm shelter. The shower houses are also cement and rated as a storm shelter.

Does the shower gray water also empty into the black vault..? Come to think of it I did know of vaults...When I worked at Penn Power before I was downsized out in the early 90's I worked at their hydro plant and the land surrounding the lake was used for community, pavilions and land for gatherings and they had vault restrooms, I just never heard them called that...Getting back to your campground I would definitely camp there, but not too sure my wife would want to...The price is defiantly right...
