Fall

I can't believe it. Fall is just around the corner. The local weather is calling for the temperature to dip down to 45 or 48 degrees tonight. I think that might be a hint of things to come.
I also find it hard to come to grips with the fact my camper hasn't been used since last fall.
It's been a busy busy summer, but I'm starting to get caught up. I turned my attention to the camper last Saturday. Wheel bearings are cleaned up and repacked along with new grease seals and brakes adjusted.
This week I went over all the caulking and got that nasty job over with.
Maybe I'll manage to get camping before the snow gets here.

Maybe you should retire so you have more time to go camping.

It happens. We only got out once this summer. Albeit it was our vaca trip.

We usually get out 4-5 times.

I personally like camping late fall but haven’t for a long time with kids in school.

Now why didn't I think of that?
We started the last project for this year. Poured the cement for an addition on the shed today.

I got 10 nights booked from Sept 21st to Oct 1st. It’s so nice at that time of year as campgrounds are pretty quiet. Fireside chats and cooking smokies are great.

You are so right. Fall camping is best. Like you, it's usually quiet and peaceful. Some times in the fall we have been the only ones in the campground for days. Enjoy your time out there.

Sorry on the less than stellar year OP. We traveled (without trailer) for all of July so didn't have the best summer either but plan to get 4 trips in the next 7 weeks so may salvage the season. I am also hoping to use the camper as base camp and get a couple overnight hike/hammock trips in this Sept as well.

Fall camping is much more peaceful...Could that be because the kids are back in school... Much quieter with just all us old farts in the campground...

All in all this was not a very good summer weather wise...Tooo many overcast and rainy days...I don't have the exact count but I would say five weeks of bad weather...I must also say that when we did go on a trip we were lucky and had good weather...

SleepyT if you could send some of that rain down here to South Texas, we'd sure appreciate it! Haven't seen a drop of rain in a few weeks and it's been in the low 100s everyday for the past week. I'm looking forward to winter when I can turn off the A/C.
