Got back two weeks ago from our annual two month spring trip. Been doing it since '09 with the exception of 2020. Put 6,000 miles on the truck. Don't know how much I spent on fuel. Told Joyce diesel cost be damned since I turn 80 in August and pray that I'll still be doing it for a few years longer, thanks to my financial consultant. Next trip will be the Colorado Grand Design Owner's rally in August in Granby, CO. A tow of 77 miles. I can afford that one!

Most of our trips are local within 4 hours drive. Nothing has changed other than trying to get sites with all the pandemic RV purchases. Hard to get sites with power so I picked up a couple of small generators. Last long trip was in 2019 to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. That was a 4500 kilometre round trip. Hope to take another big trip next summer.

I spent $1,150 for fuel on my recent trip to the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix.

I'm handling high prices by voting for politicians who don't blame Putin!

Sold my camper last year when used campers were going for a premium and gas was still reasonable.
Glad I did

We’re going to bite the bullet and go. Planning a 3,000 mile round trip this summer. Our thinking is that one or the other of us may not be able to make it one day and we still have a lot of this beautiful country to see.

Good for you!!
We did about the same thing in 2008. Camper was new and we wanted to go. We took it out to WA. I paid a few cents over $5 a gal for diesel in WA. I thought that was terrible, but we lived through it.
Have a great trip.

Thanks. We’re going to give it our best. Headed to the Black Hills of South Dakota hoping gas prices continue to decrease a bit.

The Diesel price here locally is $5.49. We still have a few trips planned around 200 -250 miles round trip but the next 2 months will be free camping within 25 miles from home. Full hookup site. We are going to be camp hosts Thursday night thru Sunday night. The wife works Monday thru Thursday. The Internet works good there. It is a small state park kind of a hidden gem. With fuel the way it is will drive the car out each week.

I took a 2200 mile trip to Louisiana in February and thought the $700 in diesel was bad. That was pulling a 37' 5th wheel. Probably couldn't do it now. It cost $141 just to fill up the truck last weekend.

We plan to do our trips in the US. Gas prices in Canada are insane. Right now it costs us $50cdn. to fill a 5 gallon gas can. Diesel is more expensive yet! In spite of the exchange rate and the smaller us gallon, fuel is still a bargain! Pretty sad state of affairs.

On Vancouver island diesel is 2.499 a litre. About 8 usd for a us gallon. Good thing we’re using the son’s Accord to get around.

Not bragging, but I was pretty happy.. bought Diesel at Wal-mart last night for $4.69/gallon. I was almost empty.. still cost almost $150 to fill up.
