Back then, there wasn't a CDL. They were called a chauffeurs license.
I know, because I had one. There, that ought to date me.

Back in the '70s and early '80s I maintained a fleet of those C series cabover Fords. The company had three C-700 trucks with 390 c.i. gasoline V8s and one C-7000 with a 10.4L (636 c.i.) Caterpillar V8 diesel engine that developed a whopping 225 HP. They also had one F-750 with a 390 in it too. I hated working on those trucks. They were horrible.
