Boeing laying off 10,000 souls, I'm screwed. Will be needing a tent soon so I can at least go camping from time to time. Do they accept tents at the Branson Rally?

Markbet, sorry to hear more bad news! Have you actually found out that your one of the 10,000, or are you still waiting (its hard to tell which is worse). Will keep you in our prayers and hope for the best outcome.

I just turned 55 years old, and I tell you what guys, I have never seen the unemployment so bad. My mom used to tell me stories about the great depression, and it almost seems like this is what is happening as we speak. Don't get me wrong, I am not going to sit around and feel sorry for myself, because there are millions and millions of people just like me that has already lost their job, or are about to. I am not kidding about camping in a tent, just because I will beĀ*unemployed, does not mean I will quit camping, I love it, and will continue to do so, it just will not be in a big fancy camperĀ*any-longer. Back to basics my friends.

I would like to also thank you guys for your support, it is nice to know that you care! Thank you.Edited by: markbet

We have been discussing this very situation ourselves. We are both 46 month's from being eliglable to retire. We figure if either of us or both of us loose our jobs we will try and sell the house and move into the trailer until we can figure things out. With both of us being right at 52 years old and the economy in the dumps we would never be able to find jobs in our fields making what we do now. Our intention is to travel full time if we make it to retirement so we may have to start a little early. We just take things month to month and hope for the best. I always figured as we got closer to retiring we would be able to relax some and enjoy life but in this economy each day is nerve racking just trying to get there.

If you feel that bad near retirement imagine how I feel at nearly 31 years old. It is darn near depressing to read all the job cuts and have such a poor economy right now. I am very blessed and so far my job is secure with my senority at my location.

I feel for everyone and wish you all the best.

Mark- I am so sorry to hear about your job situation. You and your family are in my prayers. I don't mean to sound like a Pollyanna but you know what the worst is now hope and pray for the best.

Yes, that is really good news, don't you think? Makes me feel real warm and toasty on the inside! Glad I am on the 737, but still, a lost order is not good for the health of Spirit either.
