I bought a laptop yesterday and I'm getting it going today!!!!!!!!! I bought a Toshiba at Wal-Mart that was on sale. It has 3 GB and 250 ram for $498 and now the learning starts!! That should be a learning experience to say the least. We don't have any grand kids to teach us either!!

I got it hooked up my wireless service and it worked!!Now I have find my email setup!!

Happy Camping!!!!!!!!!

John:

Good luck with your laptop. Sounds like you got a good deal. We have a Dell that we carry with us on our trips. Sure comes in handy when you want to check in on the Forum.

I bought a Toshiba Satellite almost 2 years ago. I hope that you have as good of luck as I have had with mine. I have had no problems at all and it works great.

I got this one because of the price and I don't really know much about them (laptops) other than I wanted one when when would be out of town. Hope I'm as happy with this one as you are George! I'm sure most of them would work fine!!!!!!!!!!

Ditto the laptops. I've had my laptop since '05. It works great but wouldn't mind having another as a backup (or for the DW). I wish my employer would get me a laptop to replace my desktop PC so I can do more work from home (or the campground).

Our Gateway that I bought for a Xmas gift for the wife and I 3 years ago works great. No issues and the laptop with WIFI provides a instant weather station in summer when we have severe weather approaching or when we want to find a local restaurant or featured attraction.

I have started out small with a IPOD touch to use while on the road, WI-FI... I think it will work for our needs. DW like to get away from e-mails and other communications when we travel, so I figure the IPOD will do what I need for the time. I do more reading with it, than typing.

I've had two different laptops. It travels with me more often than the DW. I thought that she'd be jealous but she'd rather me be with my laptop than another woman.

John-

Got a Toshiba Satellite almost three years ago..never a problem. I take it on the road every trip. Great for finding campground websites in addition to what Woodall's tells us. Also enables me to keep up on e-mails. Wouldn't want to think about how many would stack up unread after some of our three week trips if I didn't keep current with the laptop. You'll like it too!!

Sounds like a great deal. We replaced our desktop4 years ago with a laptop. We bought it so we could take itwhen we camped. It has been priceless to us on the road.

I went to town and bought a laser mouse this morning. That is very helpful for me and makes it much easier to move around. I'm having trouble get my emails to work, but the internet part works OK. My compter guy is coming in the morning to help get it working!!!!!!!!!
