Heading out tomorrow morning for our last big trip. Heading south along the Oregon Coast, then East in Southern Oregon. South through Central California and over to Joshua Tree/Palm Springs area. Will visit my Dad for a few days and then head North up 395 along the Eastern Sierra Mountains, through Eastern Oregon and then back home via a 2 day stop in Portland, OR. Planning on 3 weeks. Now if gas prices would drop like they usually do in the Fall........

Stan,
My son lived in Portalnd, OR for 4 years, I loved the OR coast, a most beautiful state if I might say so. He transferred in July to MI so my next trip to OR won't be until next year sometime. I'll be contacting you about where to camp there when the time comes.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim....We will be staying at the Sandy Riverfront RV Resort in Troutdale, OR. Never stayed there before (it's close to where my son has a conference so we will be his hotel for a few nights) so will have to let you know. I do know it is close to several golf courses which is where I will be during the day!

Stan, have a good and safe trip south. Did you honk going through Clark County?

Sounds like a fun trip. We did the Oregon coast a few summers ago. The best state campgrounds I have visited. The heat is coming the next few days before we return to normal still a little warm in the palms area. Have a safe trip

Dennis, Forgot to honk but I do think about you both whenever we are down that way. We will be back in Kelso for the night on the 19th.

George...Your right about the heat...which is why we are going down there in Oct. Can't take those 110's anymore.

Thanks all for the well wishes....heading to Northern Cal today.

Well, we made it back safely from our trip....three weeks, 4,000 miles and Nothing broke, wore out or just didn't work. Saw some real nice scenery and the weather even held up until the last day. I hate to button up the RV but it's about that time of year. Can't wait till the next trip.

For any golfers, I can HIGHLY recommend "Crooked River RV/Golf Resort" North of Bend, Oregon and also Myrtle Creek Golf Course in the Umpqua Valley of Southern Oregon. All I can say is WOW!</span>

Stan &amp; Terri, Welcome home, glad you had a trouble free and safe trip.
Thought about you yesterday, the 19th, when we came through Kelso in the pouring down rain with our fiver. We were returning home from Grayland St Pk at the coast from 5 days of razor clam digging. We had a good time and lots of clams.
Have a good winter
Dennis

Glad you all made it back safely and had a great time. Sorry you had to hit the high fuel prices in CA but better you did not have to buy GAS. We are planning a trip up your way next year so will look at the courses you noted and will pm you early next year for any questions about visiting your neck of the woods.

Dennis, we stayed at Grayland last year...nice park. Sorry I brought you the rain!
George..We were surprised that regular gas was so expensive but as you mentioned Diesel was not involved in the shortage so was much cheaper.... Will be glad to pass along any info when requested.
