I am no authority but I believe the water is flowing below the ice in both the river and falls. Water bodies don"t freeze solid to the bottom unless very shallow. I am sure there are exceptions and unusual situations.

and yes they are calling for freezing rain/sleet again tomorrow and Friday morning. it had better melt by fri afternoon for my camping trip. maybe jeans weather forecaster has the nc forecast in mind, freezing in the morning, sunny and warm in the afternoon. it has been like that here.

I hope it clears up for you, Aileen.

And most weather forecasters these days are a little like gypsies with a crystal ball!

Yes. You could see water flowing. With the volume that flows thru there and with the restriction that could cause made me ask about flooding.

Well it is sleeting out and they are calling for 30s and rain or sleet thru tomorrow. Due to work schedules we wouldn't be leaving g home until almost dark. Discretion being the better part of valor, we decided to cancel the trip. If the weather gets nice this weekend we will wash the tt instead.

Global warming?? What a farce! The sun is out down here in Dayton, TN and it looks like a promise of a nice day! We talked to family and friends back home in WI and the snow banks are ridicules with all the snow they have gotten this winter! Today is supposed to be in the low 40s!! Heat wave! Our daughter is in ND and they are still in the artic blast and will be for a long time to come.

I think we are finally heading into spring here in TN, but it will be awhile yet up north!

Well cancelling was a good call. We got freezing rain all night last night. Trees are down everywhere. Police wouldn't even let some of my coworkers come in because so many roads were blocked. I wouldn't be surprised if at least one or more of the roads I would have traversed to the CG would have been blocked. Or worse a tree at the CG gave up and toppled on us. We will be out first week of April....in the meantime the rv show is in Raleigh next week. I will get my fix there.

Aileen
We had the freezing rain last month. I still haven't got out to cut up all the down tree limbs in my yard. I would rather have the snow, it doesn't usually bring the trees down like the ice does. Sorry to hear you had to cancell your trip. The next couple of days are looking better as far as the weather goes. Hope it's better for you down South also.

Guess you have to take a back seat to Mother Nature and Old Man Winter. So it turns out you made a good decision. Much better than a bad experience. Better days are coming!
Go Well.

Here in Illinois were getting light snow today, suppose to be 60 on Monday and calling for a possible 5 inches of snow on Wednesday.

We now have a light white coating in Ohio...

Soooo looking forward to sitting on the deck, drinking a beer, and bitching about the heat.

God bless you guys. I guess it helps to have a sense of humor about it, since we all are at the mercy of Mother Nature after all is said and done. We are getting temps in the 40s & 50s for the rest of the week, here in SE Pennsylvania. I hope this is a good sign. Oh and one last thought. If you promise to keep that white stuff in Minn. & Ohio, I will see if we can send some of this milder weather out your way.
